Catholic Legal Immigration Network
The Catholic Legal Immigration Network was established in 1988 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to support a rapidly growing network of community-based immigration programs. CLINIC's mission is to enhance and expand delivery of legal services to indigent and low income immigrants principally through diocesan immigration programs and to meet the immigration needs identified by the Catholic Church in the United States. CLINIC's network originally comprised 17 programs. It has since increased to 193 diocesan and other affiliated immigration programs with 260 field offices in 47 states. The network employs roughly 1,000 attorneys and accredited paralegals who, in turn, serve 600,000 low-income immigrants each year.
